Charitable Donations

Who is eligible? 

  • Organizations that benefit communities and individuals in PEC's service area. The organization must  have a specific project or current need. 
  • Organizations that: 
    • Relieve the poor, distressed or underprivileged. 
    • Advance science. 
    • Erect public buildings for public works or preservation of historical buildings. 
    • Lessen the burden of government, tend to reduce taxation. Ex: library, fire department, parks, museums, historical markers, and monuments. 
    • Promote social welfare through activities of established agencies or organizations working toward the elimination of prejudice, defense of civil rights, and combating of community deterioration. 
    • Are for the cure or treatment of disease or promotion of preservation of health. 
    • Are for the armed services, rehabilitation of persons who have been in the armed services, or assist disabled veterans. 
    • Are for the promotion of the welfare of agricultural population, improvement of conditions of rural life, or solution of agricultural problems 

Where do funds come from? 

  • Charitable donation funds are from the Federated Youth Foundation (FYF).
  • FYF money comes from unclaimed or donated capital credits. 
  • FYF money cannot be used by PEC for operational or capital expenditures and are used exclusively for scholarship and charitable donations that meet the requirements set forth by the Foundation.

How to apply? 

Complete and submit the below application. 

Charitable Donation Request

  • Charitable donation requests are reviewed by the PEC board of directors, and they will select recipients and amounts. If your organization is selected, you will be mailed the funds. 
  • If you are not selected, and funds are still needed for your current project, you may reapply.
  • Organizations may receive funds up to once per calendar year.
